The popular and widely-used QPRT Suicide Risk Management Inventory© training program has been modified and adapted for primary health care and allied healthcare professionals. On recommendations from several focus groups of primary care medical providers our multidisciplinary team has edited, rewritten and condensed this award-winning suicide risk assessment and risk management program into a brief, blended online tutorial tailored for medical providers. Goals:
The goals of this educational program are to:

Purpose:
This self-study, self-paced program and its accompanying copyrighted protocol is designed to assist you to screen for suicide potential and to quickly collect suicide risk information through a series of brief inquiries. Patient answers to these stem questions lead to a risk estimation and an integrated risk management or referral plan. The version of the QPRT Suicide Risk Management Inventory © provided in this tutorial is used to assess older teenagers and adults in an outpatient setting. Both pediatric and hospital versions are available and should be requested when ordering the course (see bookstore listings). The pediatric version can be used in outpatient or inpatient settings.

Summary:
Our team has provided participants with some of the best collective thinking on the subject of suicide risk assessment interviewing and an award-winning and “best-practices” interview and documentation protocol suitable for all ages in all settings. Our aim is not only to help prevent and reduce morbidity and mortality associated with suicidal behaviors in medical settings, but to reduce the providers risk to claims of suicide malpractice. .
